The school closed in 1935 due to inadequate funds but re-opened in 1948 under a new name – the Pangasinan Normal School (PNS), which offered the two – year teacher education program. It was one among the first normal schools in the Philippines. It was in 1952 that the college offered the four – year degree in teacher education for elementary teachers by virtue of RA No. 975. In 1953, the school with elementary schools in the District of Bautista and the Bayambang National High School were merged to become the Philippine UNESCO Community Training Center. It operated as a school division then. Republic Act No. 5705 converted the school into a chartered institution – the then Central Luzon Teachers College on June 1969.
The Pangasinan State University Bayambang Campus is also among the constituent campuses of the University to actively house a Laboratory High School (a school under the College of Teacher Education; serves as training ground for future HS Teachers and KD-ELS which also serves as training ground for future elementary teachers) which dates its history by its then – name, Central Luzon Teachers College. A teacher will be given an hour to deliver their lesson. There are nine subjects in one day. On free days, teachers usually don’t give any assignments because the students need quality time and rest.
In this school, the core or major subjects that were introduced starting in Grade one are Mathematics, Filipino, and Araling Panlipunan (this subject is synonymous to Social Studies). English is only introduced after the second semester of Grade 1. Science is only introduced starting Grade 3.           The school uses a materials accordance with the core curriculum of K-12. In every subject, the students and the teacher usually have two books. First book is for the teacher as teacher’s guidance and second book is for the students. I think it is similar to my country. In Indonesia also use two books for each subject; the book for the teacher and the student. The teacher usually use instructional materials such as picture, video, and create their own materials for teaching.

Measurement and evaluation system

The evaluation system in this school will be reported every quarter a year about the progress of the students and every end of the year, there is an appreciation program for the best students in each class.

Curriculum (differences)

INDONESIA CURRICULUM -- Curriculum of 2013 (K13 -- KURIKULUM 2013)
The K13 curricular goal is to develop productive, creative, innovative, and affective Indonesians through nurturing their attitudes, skills, and knowledge integratedly. The structure of the C13 consists of four major components (1) basic structure, (2) structure, (3) syllabi, and (4) subject guide. The basic structure of the curriculum states that there are two groups of subject, namely group A and B for primary and secondary junior high schools. Group A is designed to develop students’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes for living in the context of society, community, and country. There are seven subjects in group A: (1) Religion and manner, (2) Ideology and civic education, (3) Indonesian language, (4) Mathematics, (5) Natural science, (6) Social science, (7) English language.
Group B subject is to develop students’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes related to social interactions, cultures, and arts. There are three main subjects of group B, namely (1) Art and culture, (2) Sport, physic and health, and (3) Handcraft. For some schools, such schools related to religion institution, may add several subjects to their specific contents to the curriculum. While Group C subjects, which also called preferable subjects, are chosen by students and consisting four groups: (1) mathematics and science, (2) social science, (3) language and culture. PHILIPPINE CURRICULUM (K to 12 Curriculum)
Education in the philippines is compulsory for thirteen years (kindergarten and grades 1–12). These are grouped into three levels: elementary school (kindergartengrade 6), junior high school (grades 710), and senior high school (grades 1112); they may also be grouped into four key stages: 1st key stage (kindergarten–grade 3), 2nd key stage (grades 4–6), 3rd key stage (grades 7–10) and 4th key stage (grades 11–12). Children enter kindergarten at age 5.
the K-12 curriculum of the philippines is considered the most essential step to improve the global competitiveness of the Philippines and bring the country up to international standards. Implementation of the new system is progressing on schedule and the first student cohort will graduate from the new 12-year system in 2018.
In kindergarten, the pupils are mandated to learn the alphabet, numbers, shapes and colours through games, songs, pictures and dances, but in their native language; thus after Grade 1, every student can read on his/her native tongue.
In Grade 1, the subject areas of English and Filipino are taught, with a focus on "oral fluency". In Grade 4, the subject areas of English and Filipino are gradually introduced, but now, as "languages of instruction". The Science and Mathematics subjects are now modified to use the spiral progression approach starting as early as Grade 1 which means that every lesson will be taught in every grade level starting with the basic concepts to the more complex concepts of that same lesson until Grade 10.
The high school from the former system will now be called junior high school, while senior high school will be the 11th and 12th year of the new educational system. It will serve as a specialized upper secondary education. In the senior high school, students may choose a specialization based on aptitude, interests, and school capacity. The choice of career track will define the content of the subjects a student will take in Grades 11 and 12. Senior high school subjects fall under either the core curriculum or specific tracksCore curriculum learning areas include languagesliteraturecommunicationmathematicsphilosophynatural sciences and social sciences.

Teaching Methods

Here we are, I will tell you about the method of teaching that I use. As we know that teaching methods are a way for teachers to explain lessons to students as efficiently as possible so that the students' understanding of the teacher's explanation can increase. The methods in Philippines elementary school based on questions, teachers accompany students' opinions with questions so they can find the right answers based on their own thoughts. This is certainly very influential in the results of learning achievement of students later, because it makes students become more active and independent. also the teacher gives reinforcement to the results of student achievement such as giving rewards, giving praise, and many other things. So we can conclude that the method used is student-centered.

Learning Materials and Innovation

Like other schools, The materials based on subject. Teacher can add other materials like pictures, charts, videos, story telling, etc. For innovation, the teacher uses questions and cooperative learning. The most striking difference we feel is in writing some subject meanings or explaining something. In Indonesia we are used to writing it on the blackboard, but, when in the Philippines it was considered a wasting time so we should put it in Instructional Materials. This is clearly reasonable, because in Indonesia we are accustomed to more than being given a long enough time in explaining the concept of certain things.
Another innovation is in Instructional materials, in Philippines is really all out in displaying Instructional materials. like on my observations in class, it was seen that the teacher brought Instructional materials that not only using pictures or charts, they take students out of the room to observe objects being studied so that they get an overview of the content that is learned in concrete and not abstract.

Sources of Learning and Technology

For sources of learning the teachers at PSU LIS-Elementary using from K-12 curriculum, and the others sources is from subjects book. Use instructional materials with technology such as projector, video, etc. In additional can use work sheets.

Authentic Assessment

The foundation of authentic assessment revolves around evaluating a students’ ability to apply what they have learned in the lesson. Authentic assessment to measure students' understanding and to measure teacher learning success. Authentic assessment in the classroom based on my observation are performance assessment, questions-answers, self-assessment, worksheet, observing assessment.

3. Observation On Teacher

Planning For Teaching

In all levels of Laboratory Integrated School Pangasinan University, They always do the ceremonies and stretching before starting to learn. The aim is to foster a nationalist spirit and a healthy soul.
Before the teacher start the activities in the class, the teacher arrange the lesson plan, instructional materials, motivation and etc.

Preparing Lessons and Materials

Teachers always preparing lesson before their teaching like preparing lesson plan, preparing materials, making materials, so when teacher teaching step by step is complete. Teacher use media learning like chart, pictures, video and that’s all is helpfull in learning.

Teaching iClass

In preparation step, teacher will ask pupils to singing or give them motivation, and after that teacher will explain and discuss about the previous lesson. Ask students about previous lesson, to check student understanding. Quick recap of past topics before start main activities.
In presentation step, teacher will give pupils pictures and ask to pupils. The questions and the pictures will lead to the topic of learning. But in this step, teacher not telling what the topic about.
In development of the lesson teacher will give the others question and pictures again, and teacher will ask to pupils to make an example. Teacher will repeat the questions or ask to pupils to making an another example
In generalization teacher will ask to pupils, “what is the topic about?” And the pupil can guess what the topic of lesson. And after that teacher will ask to pupils to explain what the meaning of the topic. The student will conclude the lesson of the answer that they has answered.
In application, sometimes the teacher use cooperative method. Teacher divide the student become a small group and working together in cooperative groups. Or teachers will provide interesting activities to find out how far students understand the topic. And then, teacher will repeat again about the topic, teacher will ask again to pupils what the topic about. In evaluation step, teacher will give pupils worksheet for evaluation.

Measurement and Evaluation

Teacher will give pupils evaluation like worksheet, or activities in their book. Teacher seldom give a homework to pupils.

4. TEACHING PRACTICE

Procedures of Teaching

In the beginning, I usually ask pupils to sing or claps for make them enjoy when they learning, and then review the lesson to make sure pupils understanding their lesson in the last meeting. After that, I give some motivation to pupils, like pictures or something interesting to make pupils curiously. And after that I give them question-answering until pupils understand and they can guess topic of lesson. The pupils will not immediately be able to guess the topic of learning, so I should to repeat the questions, but the questions should be from the others objects. Then I will ask to pupils to give some others example, if they can give other example it indicates that they have begun to understand. In the learning I give them a praise “very good” accourding to the situation. In the end of lesson, I give a worksheet as an evaluation.
Time Management and Organizing Activities
My supervisors give me some tips how to control a class as follow:
1.      If there are pupils who are not paying attention teacher can:
a.       sing a song, usually my supervisor sing a song “I put my finger on my lip”
b.      give them warning like counting from 3 until 1, and when counting end, so they does
2.      When the teacher is writing on the board, teachers should not turn their backs on pupils, so that teachers can write while paying attention to pupils.
3.      Write on the board should be fast.
But some of my supervisor tips are very usefull. Example, before I start the lesson I give them focus clap. If I say good morning they will clap once, if I say good afternoon they will clap twice, if I say good evening they will clap thrice, and if I say good night they will be quiet. My supervisor tips it’s very usefull, because they can identify the pupils who don’t give attention or listen to our lesson.
Problem Solving
First time I am teach in the class, I get a lot off evaluation. Like, I don’t know how to hold the picture properly, I’m forget to give them praise if the pupils answered correctly my question, and I’m rarely using the board. So on the next teaching I try to improve my mistake on the first lesson.
Classroom Management
I don’t have a big problem in classroom management. The only problem is sometimes the pupils talk tagalog, and I don’t understand. And I need other student teacher to translate it. Sometimes, I have hard time doing classroom management, example in the evening the pupils feel so tired its makes them so hard to listening our lesson. Good point that my supervisor said that I always approached the pupils when they are doing some activity. And my supervisor instructor told me, if you write on the board don’t forget to see your pupils, because sometimes if you did’n watch them something happen to your pupils.

5. SUMMARY AND SUGGESTION

Purposes of Practicum
1.      Purposes of practicum are we can learn how to be a good teacher
2.      I can train my teaching skill
Procedures of Practicum
Before I start the practice I have to know what a subject and topic I will teach. After that I make a lesson plan. Then, my lesson plan will be checked by my supervising instructor. They will give me some correction on my lesson plan, and they give me some advice to make my lesson better. Next, I receive the correct lesson plan. After that, I make my instructional material for my lesson , because in elementary school rarely use projector. I must make the instructional material by my self and using my creativity. If I finished make my instructional material, I keep trying to teach in front of my friends at dorm for exercise. Then I will teaching in the class, after I finished my the teaching, my supervisor instructor will give me some evaluation and give me some suggestion. The reason why my supervisor instructor give me a evaluation is for make me to be a good teacher.
Outcomes of Practicum
I do my best when I teaching in the class my lesson. There are no big problem, and I teach based on the lesson plan that I made before.
Overall Impression
The conclusion of my teaching practice is I enjoyed the teaching practice. My class was work same as my plans. I hope the pupils will understand what I teach to them. And I hope I can take a good thing from this practice.
Suggestions for Future Improvement
1.      Hold the picture properly and print it in concrete material;
2.      Use words of praise if the pupils answered your questions;
3.  Give more activities writing on the board for example to maximize allotted time of teaching;

Learn about new culture as Filipino

During one month living in the Philippines and interacting with the local people, me and many other participants of sea-theacher learned about the culture of Philippines, although we have not yet learned it all. From this program made by seameo, we understand that countries that are members of the United Nations active since 1945 are very concerned about many small things in their daily lives. Like some things I can mention on my site,   1. Buwan Ng Wika (The Month of Language) is a Filipino festival held during the month of August. This is the extended Sunday Language celebration which was extended on January 15, 1997 through Proclamation No. 1041 of former President Fidel V. Ramos. The Language Month is usually celebrated in schools. In this regard, many events are held to celebrate, such as the simultaneous pronunciation, poetry, slogan creation, essay recitation of poems, dancing of folk dancing and singing of folk songs. There is no single language spoken in the Philippine Ar
